I enjoyed all of the cosplays I have seen at Otakon; there were so many great cosplays out there!! As we do for all other conventions, we do a top 10 follow by our #1 top cosplay pick of the event at the end of the article. So here's my top 10!
10. Silent Bob
If Kevin Smith told me tomorrow this was actually him, I'd believe it. This guy..looks just like him.
9. Original Pokemon Bug Group Cosplay
This was extremely creative for these 4 cosplayers (or were there more?!) to make Caterpie, Metapod, Butterfree, and Beedrill! Maybe Kakuna and Weedle were around... but I didn't see them. Either way, this was pretty awesome.
8. Earthworm Jim
Dayaamm... This was pretty good, even those crazy eyes.
7. Chrono Trigger Group Cosplay
I have to say, seeing this group evoked some nostalgia of my Chrono Trigger days. Marle, Crono, and Lucca were the first three characters of this classic game!
6. Shovel Knight
The Shovel Knight game is fairly new, but was created in 8-bit graphics to resemble classic games. This Shovel Knight cosplayer definitely wowed me with his 8-bit Shovel Knight cosplay.
5. Aurora, Child of Light
I have to say I was super jealous when I saw this because of how beautiful she cosplayed our adult Child of Light. I totally want that Igniculus, SO CUTE! She did a fantastic job as Aurora.
4. Ryuko (Senketsu Kisaragi)
I like to refer to this version as like the Super Saiyan Ryuko! This cosplayer did an amazing job! Check out the LEDs in the arm and chest pieces!
3. Vinea
Vinea, the water Djinn from the Magi anime series! This cosplayer actually won the Coordinator's Award in Hall Cosplay contest. This cosplay is just too beautiful not to pick as my top 10.
2. The $17,000 Ball Pit
If you haven't followed this whole Dash Con fail, then you probably won't get this... But for those of you who do, then you'd understand why this is just unbelievably ha-lirious and awesome.
AND FINALLY... my #1 top cos pick for Otakon is....
1. BERSERK RYUKO!
This cosplay is hands down my most favorite cosplay of Otakon 2014. This Berserk Ryuko cosplay's details are immaculate and overall fantastic. Congratulations!
