This week's Cosplay Wednesday features Mimi Reaves, a cosplayer from Canada. She cosplayed as Ariel from The Little Mermaid; who doesn't love Ariel?! We've been having a spike in Disney Princess cosplays in all sorts of themes and it looks like Mimi chose to cosplay the classic Ariel we know, but with a little twist. 1. How long have you been cosplaying?
7 years
2 Why did you choose to cosplay this character?
The Little Mermaid was my favourite Disney movie as a child. :)
3. How long did it take you to complete?
I have a bad habit of not documenting my hours! But I'm guessing around 40 hours?
4. Any difficulties when constructing the costume?
Getting the Sculpey to be smooth was challenging.
5. What do you love most about cosplaying this character?
I find it really easy to make different versions of Ariel. I'm always experimenting with things that are easier to wear to conventions.
6. Where did you debut this costume? If you haven't... where do you plan to debut?
I wore it first to V-Con 2012, a small local Sci-Fi convention.
7. What's next? Cosplay related of course...
Not sure yet! I'm going back to school in September so I won't have as much time for new cosplays.
