Happy Wednesday everyone! It's Cosplay Wednesday again, and this time featuring Genkimami, a beautiful cosplayer from Quebec.  She is here to show off Eternal Sailor Neptune from the Sailor Moon series.  Sailor Neptune, also known as Michiru Kaioh, is elegant, sophisticated, capable of sharp anger, occasionally cold, and fully dedicated to her duty as a Sailor Soldier. She possesses precognitive powers associated with the sea granted by her Deep Aqua Mirror, which reveals truths. I've always admired Michiru because she is an amazing violinist as well.  Genkimami makes the perfect Sailor Neptune. Check out how she made Eternal Sailor Neptune and pictures of the whole group!!

1. How long have you been cosplaying?

I attended my first convention in 2010. I was really into Bleach at the time and was watching the Arrancar arc so I picked Sung-Sun for my first cosplay. It wasn't too challenging for someone who had just bought her first sewing machine and that particular character always has a hand over her mouth so I figured it would be easy to pose for photos as well!

2. Why did you choose to cosplay this character?

Sailor Moon was the first manga I've ever read when I was young and probably what got me into anime so it holds a dear place in my heart. I was hesitating between Neptune and Pluto, but ended up choosing Neptune because I like her color scheme the most.

3. How long did it take you to complete?

It took me a long time especially because I was really picky with my fabrics. I wanted to use taffeta and couldn't find it in the right color. After ordering many swatches from fabric stores online, I decided to take the plunge and dye some white taffeta myself. That alone took a really long time. I think I started in early 2014 with plans to wear it at Anime Matsuri in March but unfortunately I couldn't finish in time. I finished it over the summer and also made Uranus for my friend at the same time. I'd say it took about 4 months? I'm definitely not a fast cosplay maker though, haha!

4. Any difficulties when constructing the costume?

My group's costumes were made with the help of Sparkle Pipsi and NyuNyu Cosplay's patterns. These girls were part of an amazing Eternal Sailor Senshi group and were kind enough to provide patterns and construction notes for others. Thanks to them, we didn't have to many difficulties when making ours.

5. What do you love most about cosplaying this character?

It was so amazing to cosplay this character with a big group of friends! We had so much fun goofing around and taking photos. It was one of my best cosplay experiences so far.

6. Where did you debut this costume? If you haven't... where do you plan to debut?

I debuted this costume at Otakuthon 2014 in Montreal. Sadly, our Saturn couldn't make it to the photoshoot and we didn't have a Chibi Moon either, so we absolutely need to wear these again!

7. What's next? Cosplay related of course...

My next big project is the Sorceress from Dragon's Crown that I plan to wear at Anime Matsuri next April. I do have 2 smaller projects in the meantime too: a female Starfleet uniform from the Original Series and Yukiho from THE iDOLM@STER.

Awesome! Can't wait to see these :)
