This week's Cosplay Wednesday features Melon cosplayed as Nonon Jakuzure from Kill la Kill. Nonon is one of the Student Council's Elite Four, the administration that governs the Honnōji Academy. While she presents a sweet, childish facade outside of combat, she is bloodthirsty and sadistic in combat. I can see why so many people like Melon love this character! Check out her cosplayed as Nonon in her special Goku 3-Star Uniform MK2!

1. How long have you been cosplaying?

I'd like to say since way back in 1999 when I did my first cosplay but then there was a huge hiatus after that haha so really, I have been actively cosplaying since 2006.

2. Why did you choose this cosplay?

Who doesn't love Nonon? She's cute and kicks butt. I love her attitude and all her smart ass remarks. Or, as my friend would point out, it's because she has pink hair.

3. How long did it take you to complete?

Ooh that is a hard one since it's not "complete" and I worked on it twice. In total hours, I would say roughly 40 hours? It's hard to count the time waiting for paint to dry since I work on other cosplays at the same time. It's also missing one piece on the cosplay that I keep forgetting, which is the tie. The baton was finished after the debut of the cosplay as well.

4. What was the hardest part when constructing it?

There wasn't really any part that was "hard" for me honestly. The only thing I struggled a bit on was the baton because it was my first time working with Wonderflex and I had no idea what I was doing at first.

5. What do you love most about this cosplay?

I get to act cute or serious because of her character! Plus, I love pleated dresses and was a band geek back in the day.

6. Are you debuting this cosplay at a convention? If you already did, which convention?

First time I wore this was at Anime Matsuri which was held in Houston, TX back in March. Second time was at my local con, Sakura-Con in April, and I had the baton finished.

7. What's your next cosplay project?

It's actually a secret! I'm preparing it for AX and won't be revealing it for another few weeks. I will tell you that it is from a game~

Don't we all love secrets!! Can't wait til you reveal it!
