cos(WED): Harley Quinn (Injustice) by Nikkie Lamb
Written by: Riri (@lillyums)
Hello g33ks from all over! This week's Cosplay Wednesday features a cosplayer from the UK, Nikkie Lamb Cosplay! She's got a pretty fantastic Harley Quinn cosplay to show us, from the Injustice: Gods Among Us game by NetherRealm Studios. Harley Quinn is a playable character in this game, using a variety of weapons including her hammer and some cute booby trapped gifts. We all know Harley's crazy personality - and her playstyle certainly reflects that. The Injustice game has its own back story of all the characters, and while I won't spoil it too much, Harley has a daughter in this story - you'll just have to play it to find out more about it! With that, Nikkie Lamb certainly did an excellent job portraying this version of Harley Quinn, so check out what she had to say about it below!

How long have you been cosplaying?
1 year
Why did you choose to cosplay this character?
I've always been a huge fan of Harley Quinn. Her whole personality, she's completely insane yet so ditsy and sexy. There is nothing to hate. But I wanted to cosplay this version in particular purely based on the design. It was something I hadn't tried before.
How long did it take you to complete?
From start to end I would say 2 weeks non-stop. As I had to recolour it due to the first attempt being a good idea but looking dreadful.
Any difficulties when constructing the costume?
Because the fabrics are in sections it's hard lining them all up straight and hiding all the sewing. Getting it so it fit at the front and so it didn't pop open was very difficult I ended up sticking myself into it with so much tape!
What do you love most about cosplaying this character?
THE HAMMER! Haha it was 5ft tall with a massive barrel on top. It was effort to carry around but I just loved the mallet too much! And I think generally anybody dressing as Harley can get away with quite a few things. ;-)
Where did you debut this costume? If you haven't... where do you plan to debut?
London MCM October 2014
What's next? Cosplay related of course...
I'm working on around 30 new costumes from now to the end of 2015. Few from a favourite games, a couple a bit risky and out my comfort zone, and then a few designs that involve items I've never made before inc working with Worbla.
Wow 30 new costumes, that's a lot! We hope to see some submissions from you in 2015 then!
