(cos)WED: Burlesque Belle by Analeigh Cosplay
Written by Riri (@lillyums)
This week's Cosplay Wednesday feature is one of those unique cosplays you don't see everyday. Meet Analeigh, as Belle from Beauty and the Beast.... not just traditional Belle, but Burlesque Belle. There are many versions of burlesque Disney Princesses designed by various artists out there much like the example to the left; Analeigh Cosplay was inspired by all these designs and made her version of burlesque Belle. Check out what she had to say about this cosplay!

Cosplay: Burlesque Belle
1. How long have you been cosplaying?
Just two years, though dressing up has been a favourite activity since I was a baby.
2. Why did you choose to cosplay this character?
When I was born, Beauty and the Beast came out. Growing up, I felt that Belle was my special Princess. She was a book nerd, just like me, who just didn't seem to fit in. My love for her has grown over the years. I love looking at all the new ways people are drawing the princesses, and one of my favourites was the Burlesque versions. So when it came time to deciding on what to do next, it was a no brainer. This is my adaptation of that photo.
3. How long did it take you to complete?
It took about a month to complete.
4. Any difficulties when constructing the costume?
The fabric is I used is very slippery! Trying to pin the netting to my other material was a nightmare at times.
5. What do you love most about cosplaying this character?
She is my childhood. Putting her on felt like stepping back in time. I also challenged my sewing abilities and learned new tricks while making it. I am very proud of how my decorative seems and stitches turned out.
6. Where did you debut this costume? If you haven't... where do you plan to debut?
I debuted it at FanExp Vancouver
7. What's next? Cosplay related of course...
I will be at Calgary Expo debuting a new couple Cosplay of Earthworm Jim and Princess What's Her Name, as well as revisiting favourites like Burlesque Belle, Debutante Ivy and Black Canary. This summer I plan on making the full Belle skirt to switch out my Burlesque Skirt as well as the new 2015 Cinderella dress.
Great work Analeigh!
