Personally, I figure that only Asylum and City should be required play. Arkham Origins wasn't developed by the folks over at Rocksteady and while it's fun and more of the same, only reason to play it is if you want more of the Batman... but playing through both Asylum and City (including the Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC) should eat up enough time before Arkham Knight comes out June 23rd.
