Hideo Kojima OFFICIALLY Leaves Konami, Launches New Studio

It's been an ongoing struggle over the last couple months leading up to the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. But after much industry speculation and his notable absence from the Game Awards (thanks to Konami and their lawyers) Hideo Kojima and Konami's ugly divorce has been finalized.

Konami will not get any more of my money...

Thanks to a report from Japan's Nikkei, Hideo Kojima has officially walked away from Konami and is in talks with Sony Computer Entertainment to establish a new studio, hopefully bringing his creative prowess back to video games without being tied to Konami and the house he helped build.

I have my own personal thoughts on this and will be posting an open letter to Konami and Hideo Kojima in the coming weeks, but one thing I can say for certain... is even if the game is a Metal Gear Solid game, Konami will not get any more of my money... it's unfortunate that it has come to this, but with how they treated an employee who made this studio a landmark developer in the West... their actions were disgusting and a deplorable way to "pay him back" for all he's done for the name.
