Forthcoming DC Animated Feature Stars the King of Atlantis

I don't care what the minds behind The Big Bang Theory say about Aquaman... Aquaman does NOT suck. Then again, I can't call that show a true geeky show since it's basically a pandering portrayal of geek culture where the nerds are more of the punchline than something positive... but anyway! This isn't about that show... this is about Arthur Curry... King of Atlantis... Aquaman.

Thanks to TV Guide, we are getting our first details of the forthcoming Aquaman centric feature. Aquaman was notably (and disappointingly) absent from Justice League: WAR, instead replaced with Shazam. But it looks like DC's Animation division is finally letting Arthur become "part of their world."

A direct continuation of Justice League: WARAquaman: Throne of Atlantis looks to be based on the same arc in the New 52 continuity in the comic books. Much of the cast from the previous animated feature returns, including Jason O'Mara (Batman), Shemar Moore (Cyborg), Christopher Gorham (the Flash), and Sean Astin (Shazam). Returning from previous DC voice over projects include Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern), Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman) and Jerry O'Connell (Superman). New comers include Matt Lanter as Arthur "Aquaman" Curry, Sam Witwer voicing Arthur's brother Orm (the villain Ocean Master) and Sumalee Montano, who previously played Katana in Beware the Batman, as Mera; the Queen of Atlantis.

Details are still light but expect a direct to home release sometime early next year along with digital distribution methods. Personally, I can't wait to see Aquaman in full Atlantis regalia... F-You RAJ... Aquaman does not suck.
