(cos)WED: Head of Medusa Cosplay cosplays Digimon's Nefertimon

(cos)WED: Head of Medusa Cosplay cosplays Digimon's Nefertimon

Written by Riri (@lillyums)

Cosplay Wednesday this week welcomes Head of Medusa Cosplay, sharing her Digimon cosplay of Nefertimon.  If you guys follow Digimon Adventures, you'll know that this is the X-Antibody evolution.  Without going in too many details, the old Digimon world was destroyed and a new Digimon world was created; a select few Digimon were selected to move to the new world, but those who weren't selected who did survive had a rare gift called the X-Antibody. The activated antibody changed their appearance and their strength; more specifically, a distinguishable "X" would appear in their transformation.  It's a pretty awesome final transformation, and I can see why Head of Medusa wanted to tackle this cosplay! Check out how she brought Nefertimon alive.

1. How long have you been cosplaying?
I have been cosplaying for 3 years.

2. Why did you choose to cosplay this character?
I am a complete Digimon nerd and I absolutely adore the characters. They all have fantastic designs and I loved Nefertimon from Digimon Adventure02 so when I found her X-Antibody evolution I simply HAD to make it.

3. How long did it take you to complete?
it took about 1 year in total. However, it probably only took a fraction of that time when you exclude all the procrastinating and time at university!
It was a very time consuming and challenging project

4. Any difficulties when constructing the costume?
The headpiece and the digitigrade legs both proved to be incredibly difficult.
It was my first time using worbla for armour and i had no previous experience with sewing so it was a massive learning opportunity.

5. What do you love most about cosplaying this character?
I loved seeing everyone's reactions to it and the wings proved to be a great conversation starter since I hit just about everyone at the convention with them. It was just generally fun to wear, although, it got very warm and heavy by the end of the day.

6. Where did you debut this costume? If you haven't... where do you plan to debut?
I wore this costume to Capital Sci-Fi Con in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was a charity event raising money for CHAS and I was invited to attend as a competition judge.

7. What's next? Cosplay related of course...
My current projects are The Dark Magician Girl from Yugioh and a Khajiit from Skyrim.

This cosplay is absolutely amazing! We can't wait to see your future cosplays.
