cos(WED): Bioshock Infinite Elizabeth by Maiko Cosplay
Welcome to Cosplay Wednesday! We are featuring Maiko Cosplay as Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite. Of all the submissions we have received, this is the 3rd Elizabeth we have seen, and there has NOT been any other same character submissions! Of course, Bioshock Infinite is a favorite among many, and if you haven't played it, you better get to it! We love seeing how many people each portray Elizabeth in their own way, making the cosplay completely unique. Check out how Maiko did it, and what she had to say about it!

1. How long have you been cosplaying?
Since ALA '14.
2. Why did you choose to cosplay this character?
She is such a strong and positive role model in the video game world. Even when times are tough, she knows to feel her emotions, but not let it get in the way of what needs to be done. Elizabeth is smart, resourceful, beautiful, charismatic, thoughtful, hopeful, kind, and forgiving; all the things I hope to be as I grow older.
3. How long did it take you to complete?
About a month or less?
4. Any difficulties when constructing the costume?
Oh my god! Yes! The collar was a nightmare and so were the pleats! She has eight, yes EIGHT, pleats on one side of her skirt. I had to make my own pattern because having so many pleats on just one side doesn't make sense to anyone but the costume designer. Also, the belt things on her skirt wouldn't stay up. I had to stick double sided sewing tape on them to make it stay up nicely. Phew!
5. What do you love most about cosplaying this character?
I love that I chose the earlier version of Elizabeth. This is when she's pretty innocent, happy, and curious. I was able to dance in a photo shoot and I carried around fake cotton candy. I didn't need to look angsty in my pictures. Haha.
6. Where did you debut this costume? If you haven't... where do you plan to debut?Comikaze 14. I might bring it back though... Maybe bloody version.
7. What's next? Cosplay related of course...
I have big plans for ALA '15, but I don't really want to share in case they don't become reality. I'm almost done with Suzie Q from Jojo though! :)
We love how much character you put into these photos! Would love to see the bloody version of this!
