Kaze~ Whirldwinds Through Chibi Chibi Con!
written by Kaze~ (@gokulover3)
Don't you wish you could attend a mini convention every now and then to fill that little bit of emptiness when a convention isn't around? Well I do! And Chibi Chibi Con in Olympia, WA was exactly what I needed. Located at Evergreen State College this mini one day convention is held annually by the college's anime club. This year marked its 14th year that student and members of the anime club that put this event together. Cindy (one of the club members), states that Chibi Chibi Con will continue to go on strong. I asked Cindy if the club intended for this mini event to become larger in the future and she replies that "no, it's just something for fun” and they don't have plans of making Chibi into an actual convention. Which is fine by me because a little event like this is just what I need before going to a huge convention, like a little break from con season.
I personally don't mind a small event like this, it’s nice to be away from the hectic large cons where you're trying to see everything, people, panels and buy stuff all at the same time. But at Chibi you can just relax, see a few timely events, mingle with new people and buy some merchandise.
I spoke to a few more vendors and they all seem to enjoy this local con for vending and just meet new people. No rush or hassle just a small gathering with like-minded people that want to hang out
Sadly I did not get the chance to chat with many cosplayers, but I hope to talk more of them next time around!
Until next time g33ks... JA NE!
