DC Comics' New Take On Scooby Doo and Hanna-Barbera Propeties

Alot of changes going on; for those who don't know... DC Comics and Hanna-Barbera are both owned under the same umbrella, so with DC Comics taking a crack at these iconic characters, quite a bit has changed over the past couple years.

Scooby and the gang get a considerable upgrade, while their outfits look to be more modernized the biggest change comes to Shaggy who looks less like the lovable beatnik stoner and more like a fixie bike riding hipster hailing from Portland. The patchy chin beard is replaces with a full beard with a groomed stache.

Personally... I kinda dig it! I think that updating their look gives Scooby and the gang a chance to be relevant in the modern age. They always looked slightly out of time, though I wonder why they decided to make Velma into what appears to be a little girl wünderkid.

The new series is titled Scooby Apocalypse, featuring a new take on Scooby and the gang courtesy of Jim Lee, Keith Giffen, and Howard Porter. The monsters are real now and I'll bet these meddling kids will wish for the days it was just a surly old man in a rubber mask.

Following suit, several other properties join suit with The Flintstones, Wacky Raceland, and ensemble series Future Quest (featuring the likes of Johnny Quest, Space Ghost, Birdman etc).
