Nerd Musings: Louis Vuitton

Nerd Musings: Louis Vuitton

When Fernanda Ly makes her way down the runway with her pale pink hair and manga inspired make-up you can’t help but feel the Moon Prism Power. Louis Vuitton S/S 16 reveals that creative director Nicolas Ghesquiére has shown us his inner nerd and we love it. Citing Minecraft and Tron as his inspirations for this collection which is awesome. We spotted all lots of strong female nerd inspirations. We are here for it.

The Sailor Moon tiara resting on Ly’s brow is a clear example. It’s almost to say that this LV collection gives you magical girl powers or Harleth Kuusik powerfully strutting down the catwalk in Major Motoko Kusanagi’s Ghost in the Shell visor and boyish shag, she’s just too cool. Maartje Verhoef’s galactic-print flight suit is something straight out of the night sky in Halo. Ghesquiére’s proving that fashion should be just as fearless as the strong female leads that we’ve all come to love. Now is the time to invest in a pair of cyber platforms and start binge-watching Crunchy Roll- come spring we see Vuitton otaku making an oh-so-fashionable debut.
