Squee! I have a [cosplay] page now!

www.facebook.com/RIRI.thelittleone

I hope that with this I can show the world that being vertically challenged that I can still [try] to make cosplay beautiful on me! Of course, unless... I stand next to someone really tall...

It was funny because at Sakura Con, while waiting for the Cosplay Contest, I ran into a Saber cosplayer in the suit variant.  I took a photo with her but it was funny, she went, "Iri is suppose to be taller than Saber! I'll crouch :) "  haha it was funny. I never take offense to things like that because I am actually very anal when it comes to accuracy and details.. so it does come as a challenge for me when I cosplay characters that probably more average height than below average.  But who says height matters? Haha I'll bring a stool if I have to!

Anyways, please 'like' my page!

Justice League Dessert Plates - a new project!

We haven't launched our Avengers ceramics post yet that I painted like agggesss ago, but we will close on that soon because I have started on a Justice League dessert plate set!

Here's a sneak peak of the first of the set that I've completed - I had to get the hardest one out of the way first because of those damn pointy ends of Batman's logo!! BAH! So much attention to detail!!!

I am... The Little One

4'8 is pretty little ya? My main goal as a kawaii little cosplayer is to make sure that I don't look like I'm wearing big people clothes and that everything looks proportional.  It's quite a challenge when I used to have to have my cosplay commissioned... regardless of custom tailoring, sometimes it just doesn't look right, which why I will start making my own cosplay.  I've started making my own props 2 years ago and it was FUN.

I'll be starting a cosplay page dedicated to showing the world that hey, little people can cosplay too - just as long as we don't stand next to normal sized people it's all good... ;)

The Little One will be the name of my page but I will go by Riri. Or ... vice versa... I haven't decided.  I hope that you all can support me and like my page when that comes! Watch my progressuuu with my cosplay and hope that whatever I do, I won't look like a disproportionate midget.

I AM RIRI-N! RAWR. =^.^=

Riri-N? There is a story behind that, in fact there are two stories behind where that comes from.  The first story: My name is Lillian, as you may not know, and because I am Asian and totally able to pronounce my R's, my friends still like to call me Rirrian. Which then can derivatize into Riri ("Lily").  That is the first story. The second story:  a grown man once addressed me as Lily-N on a Valentine (was he serious? Yes, yes he was) because he didn't know how to spell the name Lillian.  I found it cute, and actually very creative and while one of my biggest pet peeve is spelling my name wrong (Lilian vs Lillian), Lily-N was so far butchered from the original, I decided to love it.  Hence, Riri-N came around.  It's like, Rirrian, but because someone didn't know how to spell Rirrian, it is spelled as Riri-N instead.

Anyway that was the introduction to my name, and now I should probably introduce my actually first real blog post on Lifted Geek! So here's the deal.  I am:

  • A Chemist
  • A Cosplayer
  • A Crocheter
  • A Cat lover

Who knew my life would be dominated by C's.  And L's. Live, Love, and Laugh (blog post name).  I love to cosplay and would be documenting my progress on certain projects.  I also crochet - so my blogs will have brief photos of things I've made, and then maybe silly photos of my cat because he sits on everything I do.  Me as a Chemist, well..... That's just to balance out all my craziness  you can see it gets progressively worse as you go down the C list ;) But hey, I'm living the life, I'm loving what I do, and I literally laugh all the time so I'm overall a pretty happy person.

I hope you enjoy my future posts as a normal human being who loves all things geeky! Stay tuned!!
